Ravengard is an upcoming PvPvE loot extraction game where players loot a dungeon while fending off dangerous creatures, bosses, and other groups of mercenaries. The game will be limited to modern Minecraft versions, and will require a custom resource pack to play, bringing custom textures and models. An initial public playtesting phase is planned to begin in the first quarter of 2026. During this phase, the game will open for a few days at a time before resetting players progress.[1]
Gameplay
Players (known as mercenaries in-game) initially spawn in a coastal city named "Ravengard." The city is filled with NPCs to aid in the player's progression such as traders or quest characters which reveal the lore of Ravengard.[1]
The main game takes place in dungeons below the city. Groups of 1–3 players traverse the dungeon, collecting loot while warding off monsters and other teams of mercenaries. Treasure is obtained from treasure chests, monsters, other players, and more.[1]
Each monster has unique attacks using latest-version technology, with some being able to be strategically avoided, parried, or blocked. Bosses also spawn on each floor, such as the Wraith and the Cursed Knight on the main floor, which grant special rewards when defeated.[1]
Red portals will occasionally spawn, which, when entered, transports the player to a deeper part of the dungeon with better treasure but more challenging monsters and bosses.[1]
Players who die are eliminated and have their items left behind, allowing others to loot it; though, groups can revive teammates using Revival Statues, bringing the person back with only a basic weapon. A Death Wall slowly consumes parts of the map, dealing damage to players who are inside it which increases as the round goes on.[1]
Players can exit the dungeon through blue portals which spawn in groups of 1–3. Going through a blue portal transports the player back to Ravengard with the loot they collected during the round, and the portal will close upon being used. As there is not enough portals to extract everybody, players are encouraged to fight in encounters with other mercenaries to ensure their return with loot.[1]
